JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
The Medical Education and Training Campus (
METC) Navy Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) course successfully hosted the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT) April 11. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a specialized accreditation compliance assessment to ensure continued delivery of world-class cardiovascular medical training.
To prepare for the JRC-CVT site visit, the METC CVT team executed a comprehensive accreditation strategy encompassing agency policies and standards in conjunction with Navy and METC guidelines. This effort began with the submitting a meticulously crafted self-study highlighting interdivisional collaboration, fleet feedback, community of interest involvement fostering consistent curriculum delivery, and an impressive 93.33% student registry pass rate.
The JRC-CVT team met with members of the METC Academic, Standards and Evaluation, and CVT course leadership teams, toured the course's training spaces, and interviewed a series of personnel to include current students, course graduates, and current employers of the graduates.
The objective and thorough evaluation resulted in zero discrepancies found.
