The Dental Laboratory Technology course provides students with formal education and training that develops them into entry-level Dental Laboratory Technicians.
This is a consolidated course with three military services attending (Army, Navy, and Air Force). The course is designed to provide fundamental training in the fabrication of complete dentures, Removable Partial Dentures (RPD) and treatment appliances, crown and bridge, metal-ceramic restorations, and dental implants using both analog and digital dental technology processing methods.
Performance-based training is conducted for all aspects of training as this program deals in the fabrication of dental prostheses. Students manipulate dental materials, maintain dental equipment, and perform basic dental fixed and removable prostheses procedures.
The instructional design of this course is group-lock step. Methods of instruction include, but are not limited to: lecture, demonstration, online materials, simulations, laboratory practice, and practical exercises. Quality control and safety techniques are emphasized throughout the program.
