JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
The Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) Radiologic Technologist program kicked off National Radiologic Technology Week November 8th with a reading of the Texas Governor’s Proclamation outside Heroes Hall, the medical instructional facility where the RAD program is located. A student representing each of the services in the multi-service program - Army, Navy and Air Force – read a portion of the proclamation to an audience of fellow classmates, instructors and staff. Other events scheduled during the week included a Student Poster Competition with the artwork on display in the Heroes Hall lobby.
This year’s Radiologic Technology Week theme, “Essential Together", called attention to the important role medical imaging has in patient care and health care safety. Involving the METC radiologic trainees in RAD Week events provided an opportunity for them to see how their career choice plays a vital role in the entire healthcare arena, as well as why acquiring their certification is an important step to not only be recognized for their qualifications, but in demonstrating their commitment to excellence.
