Medical Laboratory Apprentice Completes Successful Accreditation Visit

During April 28-29, the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) Medical Laboratory Apprentice (MLA) course hosted an on-site accreditation visit from the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) that reviewed eight ( standards of evaluation encompassing curriculum development and administration to course resourcing and sustainment. During the 2-day inspection, the NAACLS team reviewed over 2,000 pages of documentation encompassing didactic and laboratory practices, academic oversight and student interviews on their learning experiences resulting in zero findings or discrepancies within the MLA course. This string showing has paved the way for lessons learned that will be shared with the METC Histotechnology and Medical Laboratory Technician courses that also share the NAACLS accreditation standards.

CVT Course Crushes Accreditation Site Visit

The Navy Cardiovascular Technologist course successfully hosted the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT) April 11. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a specialized accreditation compliance assessment to ensure continued delivery of world-class cardiovascular medical training.
