JBSA Severe Weather Alert

By 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

AS OF FEB. 16:

The installation is anticipating additional outages within the next 24 hours as another front of severe winter weather approaches. In light of these conditions, the installation commander has extended JBSA closure for non-emergency personnel tomorrow, Feb. 17.

JBSA will continue to reduce non-emergency services and support during this time. Emergency Mission Essential Personnel should receive official reporting instructions from their leadership. Weather and safety leave is authorized, and civilians should work with their supervisor to determine leave or telework as appropriate.

Also, to alleviate any supply shortages, all Commissaries will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 17, and main AAFES stores/Express Stores will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to on-base personnel only.

Please be mindful of the road conditions and limit trips if possible.

The DFACS are operating with limited staff but still open. If anyone is not receiving meals during this time, please direct message the JBSA Facebook for assistance.

The Civil Engineering team has acknowledged frozen pipes around the installations and there is little they can do until they thaw. Power outages at water pumps have also affected water flow and water pressure. We will have updates on water restoration as it becomes available.

All JBSA Force Support Squadron services are closed tomorrow as well. See their Facebook page for updates.
