Army and Navy students in the Medical Education and Training Campus Preventive Medicine program examine insects and learn about their relationship to humans, the environment, and other organisms in the entomology laboratory. As part of their training, students are prepared to perform various entomological functions in support of insect and rodent control programs. Graduates are certified in DoD Pesticide Application through the Armed Forces Pest Management Board.

METC Program Creates Path to College Degrees
Master Sgt. Adrian Welch, the Army Reserve Senior Career Management Non-Commissioned Officer at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, earned two college degrees through the METC Degree Bridge program. Welch took advantage of the program years after graduating from the Army’s 91W Healthcare Specialist course (now the 68W Combat Medic Specialist Training Program) in July 2003, several years before METC was established.

METC Student Awarded Navy and Marine Corps Medal
Rear Adm. Cynthia Kuehner, commander of Naval Medical Forces Support Command, presnets Hospital Corpsman William T. Ericson the Navy and Marine Corps Medal in recognition for acts of non-combat heroism during a ceremony recently at the Navy Medicine Training Support Center.
